Who gets to do concerts with Mary and Joseph in December?

My privilege, at Hoxton Hall for the great Spitalfields Music. No sheep, but Mary and Jo on fine form, Classic Fm popped around to the rehearsal:

Dido's Lament

Dido's Lament is heartbreakingly beautiful ?Composed by Purcell and performed by soprano Mary Bevan, lutist Elizabeth Kenny and cellist Joseph Crouch. See them at Spitalfields Music Festival on Tuesday 4 December! https://clssicfm.co/2Bzj3v4

Now I’m at Oxford

Very excited to have started up as Oxford University’s Director of Performance. Getting to know the Music Faculty and soon the students. Its a move along the A34 from Southampton where I’m grateful for 12 great years.

Get me to a salt mine

Well this was a huge thrill, like no other venue (except the bit where I left my phone behind, but the nice people at Wieliczka sent it back).    Glad they liked the Lachrime.

No tears here: Gramophone Award for Lachrime

A wonderful week of all things Lute at the LSA’s West Fest was followed by two weeks of sun and no wifi in Devon. Mojo restoration was completed by returning to this news,

It was a privilege to knock about in the unique Phantasm sound world with this greatest of great music.
